Terms of Service

Please read these Terms of Service carefully before using Genesiverse. By using our Services—whether as a guest, a registered user, or otherwise—you agree that these Terms govern your relationship with Genesiverse (“Genesiverse,” “we,” “us,” or “our”).

These Terms apply to the entire “Genesiverse Network,” including without limitation: (1) the Genesiverse Minecraft servers (including Club, LaserTag, and other game instances); (2) the websites and apps at genesiverse.com and related subdomains (including the API and dashboards); (3) minigames, arcade features, parties, social features, marketplaces, and stores; and (4) all related features, content, and software, whether accessed on a computer or mobile device. If you do not completely agree to these Terms, you must not use any of our Services.

Our Privacy Policy also applies and is incorporated by reference.

1) Definitions

  • Account means any Genesiverse account you create or link (including via Discord and Minecraft) to access certain Services.
  • Dispute means any controversy related to this agreement, including claims arising out of the relationship between you and Genesiverse, subject to applicable consumer rights laws in your jurisdiction.
  • In-App Purchases / Virtual Goods means digital items, cosmetics, currencies (such as Gems or tickets), vault drops, ranks, and similar licenses available through the Services.
  • Intellectual Property Rights means patents, copyrights, trademarks, trade secrets, and similar rights under any law, including applications and registrations.
  • Privacy Policy means our privacy policy at /privacy.
  • Services means the Genesiverse Network and any related websites, games, content, servers, APIs, and products we provide.
  • User Content means data you upload, transmit, or create through the Services (including chat, builds, skins, profiles, status text, market listings, and recordings of gameplay where applicable).

2) Ownership and limited license

a) Ownership

The Services are owned or licensed by Genesiverse and protected by Intellectual Property Rights and other laws. We reserve all rights not expressly granted to you. Minecraft® is a trademark of Mojang Synergies AB / Microsoft; Genesiverse is not affiliated with or endorsed by Mojang or Microsoft.

b) License

Subject to your continuing compliance with these Terms and our rules, we grant you a non-commercial, non-exclusive, non-transferable, revocable, limited license to access and use the Services for your own entertainment.

c) Accounts

  1. You may access certain Services by signing in with Discord and linking a Minecraft account. You are responsible for activity on your Account and for keeping credentials and linked accounts secure.
  2. Sharing an Account with others does not reduce your responsibility; all users of that Account must comply with these Terms.
  3. We may delete Accounts that appear inactive for a prolonged period (for example, 180 days without use), which may result in loss of associated progress or Virtual Goods.
  4. To request Account deletion, contact [email protected].

d) License limitations

Any use of the Services that violates the law, these Terms, or the limitations below may result in immediate revocation of your license, Account suspension or deletion, and other remedies. You agree you will not, directly or indirectly:

  1. Act against the spirit or intent of the Services as we reasonably determine;
  2. Cheat, exploit bugs, use unauthorized clients/mods that grant unfair advantage, or otherwise manipulate gameplay, economy, matchmaking, or rankings;
  3. Use bots, scrapers, or automated means to access, abuse, or reverse engineer the Services (except as permitted by law);
  4. Hack, phish, distribute malware, or attempt unauthorized access to systems or Accounts;
  5. Commercially exploit the Services without our written permission, including real-money trading of Accounts or Virtual Goods, paid boosting/power-leveling, or unauthorized advertising;
  6. Organize or promote wagering on Service outcomes where prohibited by law (in-game spectator betting or similar features we expressly provide are subject to our rules and applicable law);
  7. Copy, modify, or redistribute Service materials except as we allow;
  8. Harass, threaten, bully, doxx, or abuse other players, staff, or Genesiverse;
  9. Engage in hate speech or organize groups that target protected classes as we reasonably determine;
  10. Attack or disrupt the Services (DDoS, spam floods, intentional lag machines, etc.);
  11. Impersonate others, including staff, or infringe others’ rights;
  12. Use the Services where prohibited by law.

3) Payment and Virtual Goods

  1. Virtual Goods are licensed, not sold. They have no real-world cash value. We may manage, modify, reset, or eliminate Virtual Goods at any time without liability, except where mandatory consumer law says otherwise.
  2. Purchases (if any) are generally payable in advance and non-refundable except as required by applicable law or as we choose to grant in our discretion.
  3. If we use a third-party merchant of record (for example a store partner), their checkout terms also apply to billing. Contact that merchant first for payment issues; contact us for gameplay or Account issues.
  4. Closing or banning an Account may forfeit unused Virtual Goods and progress without refund, except where law requires otherwise.

4) User Content

When you submit User Content, you represent that it:

  1. Is accurate where accuracy is expected, and not fraudulent;
  2. Does not infringe Intellectual Property Rights or other rights;
  3. Is not obscene, threatening, defamatory, or invasive of privacy;
  4. Complies with these Terms and applicable law;
  5. Does not contain malware or unauthorized commercial spam.

You grant Genesiverse a worldwide, royalty-free, sublicensable license to host, use, reproduce, modify, and display User Content as needed to operate and improve the Services. You remain responsible for your User Content.

If you believe content on the Services infringes your copyright, notify us at [email protected] with: (1) a description of the work and the allegedly infringing material; (2) your contact information; (3) a good-faith statement that use is unauthorized; and (4) a statement under penalty of perjury that you are authorized to act for the rights holder, plus your signature.

5) Term

These Terms remain in effect unless we modify them. Ending a license does not end other provisions that by nature should survive (including ownership, liability limits, indemnity, and dispute terms).

6) Account access and bans

If you have been banned from Genesiverse Services, you may not create or use another Account to evade that ban. Evading moderation may result in further enforcement.

7) Service availability and termination

You acknowledge that:

  1. We may update, patch, or change the Services at any time;
  2. We may suspend or terminate access to any Service or Account at any time for any reason, including Terms violations, with or without prior notice, to the extent allowed by law;
  3. You may stop using the Services at any time; for Account deletion requests, email [email protected];
  4. Access may be interrupted for reasons within or beyond our control;
  5. On suspension or termination, access to Virtual Goods and progress may be lost without refund except where law requires otherwise;
  6. Services may not be offered in all countries;
  7. You are responsible for your own internet and device costs.

8) Warranty and liability

THE SERVICES ARE PROVIDED “AS IS” AND “AS AVAILABLE.” TO THE FULLEST EXTENT PERMITTED BY LAW, GENESIVERSE DISCLAIMS ALL WARRANTIES, EXPRESS OR IMPLIED, INCLUDING MERCHANTABILITY AND FITNESS FOR A PARTICULAR PURPOSE. WE DO NOT WARRANT THAT THE SERVICES WILL BE UNINTERRUPTED, ERROR-FREE, OR FREE OF HARMFUL COMPONENTS.

TO THE FULLEST EXTENT PERMITTED BY LAW, GENESIVERSE IS NOT LIABLE FOR INDIRECT, INCIDENTAL, SPECIAL, EXEMPLARY, OR CONSEQUENTIAL DAMAGES, OR FOR LOSS OF PROFITS, GOODWILL, OR DATA, ARISING FROM USE OF OR INABILITY TO USE THE SERVICES, OR FROM THE CONDUCT OF OTHER USERS OR THIRD PARTIES.

TO THE MAXIMUM EXTENT PERMITTED BY LAW, OUR AGGREGATE LIABILITY ARISING OUT OF THESE TERMS SHALL NOT EXCEED THE GREATER OF (A) THE TOTAL AMOUNTS YOU PAID TO GENESIVERSE IN THE 180 DAYS BEFORE YOU FIRST ASSERT A CLAIM, OR (B) USD $50 IF YOU PAID NOTHING IN THAT PERIOD. SOME JURISDICTIONS DO NOT ALLOW CERTAIN LIMITATIONS; IN THOSE PLACES, OUR LIABILITY IS LIMITED TO THE MAXIMUM EXTENT ALLOWED.

9) Indemnity

You agree to defend, indemnify, and hold harmless Genesiverse and our team, partners, and agents from claims, damages, losses, and expenses (including reasonable attorneys’ fees) arising from: (1) your breach of these Terms; (2) your use of the Services; or (3) your User Content or harmful software you introduce.

10) Dispute resolution

a) Informal resolution

Before filing a formal claim, you agree to try to resolve Disputes informally by emailing [email protected] and allowing at least thirty (30) days for a response and good-faith discussion.

b) Governing law

Except where prohibited by law, these Terms are governed by the laws of the United States and the State of Ohio, without regard to conflict-of-law rules. Courts located in Ohio shall have exclusive jurisdiction for disputes not resolved informally, except that we may seek injunctive relief in any appropriate forum to protect Intellectual Property Rights or Service integrity. (Update this clause once your operating entity and preferred venue are finalized.)

c) Class actions

To the fullest extent permitted by law, you and Genesiverse agree to bring claims only in an individual capacity, not as a class or representative proceeding.

11) Miscellaneous

  • Changes. We may update these Terms by posting a new version on this page. Continued use after changes become effective constitutes acceptance. Check this page regularly.
  • Entire agreement. These Terms and the Privacy Policy are the complete agreement regarding the Services and supersede prior understandings on this subject.
  • Force majeure. We are not liable for delays caused by events beyond reasonable control.
  • Waiver / severability. Failure to enforce a provision is not a waiver. If a provision is unenforceable, the rest remains in effect.
  • Language. The controlling language of these Terms is English.
